The Green Fund with its Board Decision No. 1242.4/2022 co-finances the LIFE18 ΝΑΤ/NL/000716 – “Pelican Way of LIFE” initiative for the year 2022 with the total amount of €15,000.00 for the implementation of the Hellenic Ornithological Society / BirdLife Greece actions.
The “Conservation of the Dalmatian pelican along the Black-Sea Mediterranean Flyway” initiative (Pelican Way of LIFE) is being implemented from September 2019 to March 2025. The coordinating beneficiary of the project is Rewilding Europe while associated beneficiaries are the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds / BirdLife Bulgaria, Hellenic Ornithological Society / BirdLife Greece, Persina Nature Park Directorate (Bulgaria), Rewilding Danube Delta (Romania), Rewilding Ukraine and the Romanian Ornithological Society / BirdLife Romania.
The total budget of the Pelican Way of LIFE Project amounts to 1,773,676€. The European Union co-finances the project at a percentage of 75% (75% of the total eligible costs, i.e. 1,330,255€). The Green Fund co-finances the “Pelican Way of LIFE” initiative for the year 2022 for the implementation of the Hellenic Ornithological Society / BirdLife Greece actions.
