The seventh international pelican census was conducted at the very beginning of June in the Balkan countries. The census aims to collect data on the population and distribution of Dalmatian and Great white pelicans in the study area. The event was organized within the initiative “Pelican Way of LIFE” and was coordinated by the Hellenic Ornithological Society (HOS).

In the period 24-26 May, the sixth international pelican census was held in South-Eastern Europe. It aimed at gathering information about the number and distribution in the region of two endangered keystone species – Dalmatian pelican and Great white pelican. The event was organized within the initiative “Pelican Way of LIFE” and coordinated by the Hellenic ornithological society (HOS).

The fifth international pelican census in Southeast Europe took place on May 14th. It aimed at gathering information about the number and distribution of the endangered species Pelecanus crispus (Dalmatian pelican) and Pelecanus onocrotalus (Great white pelican) in the region. The event was organized within the “Pelican Way of LIFE” initiative and was coordinated by the Hellenic ornithological society (HOS).
